Do you want to join the Taking Steps Brattleboro Team?
Maybe your heart aches hearing a friend talk about the terrible battle her family had over their grandmother’s final days in the hospital. Maybe you long to see families talk far in advance so they can be on the same page in a medical crisis. You can now become part of the volunteer team helping make that happen.
TAKING STEPS BRATTLEBORO is a community-wide project of Brattleboro Area Hospice, helping people with their Advance Care Planning.
Volunteers are trained in the Respecting Choices® method of Advance Facilitation.
They help community members (at no charge) through the process of thinking about, discussing and documenting their wishes for care in case of a serious accident or illness.
Current volunteer facilitators say:
“One couple I worked with was SO relieved to have this done. Feels like an accomplishment.” L.G.
I like helping people clear up confusion and get answers to things they need to know. HT
“It’s rewarding to help people have these conversations that can be difficult. People get that it’s a gift to get this done.” P.C.
