Serious Illness Program

Have you or someone you love been diagnosed with a serious illness, or are coping with an exacerbation of an ongoing serious illness?

The Serious Illness Program was created to offer support, solace, and assistance to people going through a life-altering serious illness, one that may or may not have a terminal prognosis.

The Serious Illness Program offers:

• One-on-one volunteer services
• Support groups with others going through the course of a serious illness
• Opportunities to learn more about what supports are available in the community

The Serious Illness Program has been created to help support people in Windham County and bordering NH towns who are experiencing challenging life changes due to a serious illness.

The time of a new diagnosis, or treatment for a recurrence or exacerbation of an ongoing illness often calls for added support. If you or your loved one are going through cancer treatment, or coping with a healthcare crisis due to organ disease we can help.

Our trained volunteers are able to offer:

• Emotional support and a listening ear
• Companionship
• Help around the house
• Transportation for appointments
• Support for appointments and treatments
• And more…

SUPPORT GROUPS

Our Peer Support Groups are a place where folks can get together and openly share their experiences with others who truly understand. We offer a safe space to share personal experiences, feelings, coping strategies, and also allow for shared learning.

All services are free of charge & confidential. We do not provide medical care.
