2024 Hospice Amazing Hunt Recap

The third Hospice Amazing Hunt is in the books – what a great day! The weather was perfect, we had a good turnout, and by all reports everyone had a good time on the Hunt!

On Saturday, September 28, nine teams gathered at Plated Restaurant to take part in the Hospice Amazing Hunt. At 1:00 pm sharp, they got their clues and were off! For the next two hours, they hunted down GPS coordinates, answered riddles to find hidden QR codes, took team photos of assigned tasks, and matched provided photos of quirky sights to locations around town to earn points. When 3:00 pm rolled around we had our champions: The Quest Queens, representing Brattleboro Area Realty!

Here’s a link to some of the clues with photos of teams completing the task: https://brattleborohospice.org/blog/2024-hospice-amazing-hunt-gallery

We had teams representing Brattleboro Area Realty, Swiss Precision, Sunrise Rotary, Sunset Lake, The Putney School, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, my cats!, and friends of the committee. We had former staff and a board member on teams, which was great.

Fourteen businesses downtown let us hide QR codes; others were the backdrop for photo clues. There was Brattleboro trivia, and teams had to look sharp to spot signs and sculptures that are around town every day – we just don’t usually notice them.

After the Hunt was done, everyone regathered at Plated to enjoy some snacks and find out whether they had won a prize: Brattleboro Subaru, Experienced Goods, The Marina Restaurant and more donated gift certificates, which we bundled up for the lucky winning teams.

PRIZES PROVIDED BY: Brattleboro Subaru, Plated, Tito’s Tacos, The Marina, Experienced Goods, The Porch, Brattleboro Food Co-op, Purple Sarah Day Spa, Cafe Loca, Moon Dog Cafe, and Halladay’s Harvest Barn.

And, teams raised almost $7,000 for Brattleboro Area Hospice! Our sponsors donated $10,000, making for a successful afternoon: GSPT, LLC, Chroma Technology, Trust Company of Vermont, Brattleboro Savings & Loan, Brattleboro Veterinary Clinic, Berkley & Veller Greenwood Country Realtors, Brattleboro Food Co-op, Farnum Insulators, Foard Panel, Sam’s Outdoor Outfitters, Brattleboro Area Realty, and Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Thank you to everyone who made the Hospice Amazing Hunt a wonderful event! Hilary Farquhar
