30 Apr Dummerston Wind Phone
Dear Friends,
It seems that tears are falling to our thirsty earth this morning. Sometimes tears nurture and lead to growth. That’s how it is for me these days. Our family is preparing to say good-bye to our 90-year-old mother as we have known her for 66 and 61 years. She has free-range cancer now. The anticipation of her leaving allows us an exceptional opportunity to plan, reflect, share, hold space and create.
Several years ago, while watching Good Morning America with my mom, there was a fascinating segment about a family that lost a child. The project I did in August was inspired by them. It is something I want to share with others. It’s on the land I am privileged to live on but is freely open to all of you at 197 Hill Rd in Dummerston. We all have had various kinds of loss. I believe we can stay connected in special ways. One way is by phoning them. Please feel free to come to “call the other side” anytime year-round. There’s no need to let me know when you might arrive. Stay as long as you want and come as often as you want with anyone. Park at the top of the driveway, walk 1/3 of the way down. On the right you will see the beginning of a 2-minute, “more gifts” path. Bring a photo and write or sketch in the journal if you’d like.
May this gift inspired by others and my mother, Maria, nurture you and help you grow as the mystery of life and death unfolds.
With love,
Frances Herbert
