Hospice Care Coordinator Job Opening, 24-32 hours per week

Brattleboro Area Hospice is an independent community organization and one of a handful of volunteer hospices left in the United States.   We support community members who are seriously ill, dying and grieving.  We were founded on the belief that no one should die alone, and are committed to the principle of local control.  

We are seeking a Hospice Care Coordinator to support end of life clients and their families, assign and supervise trained volunteers and provide community outreach and education on death and dying.  

This part-time position may be 24 to 32 hours per week, based on mutual agreement.  It is an excellent part-time job for someone who has family responsibilities or is retired, doing work that will directly help your community. We are a collaborative, supportive workplace that offers autonomy and flexibility for employees.   

The ideal candidate will have:  

  • Experience and/or aptitude for managing volunteers, coordinating care and client problem solving
  • Experience and/or aptitude for public speaking on our programs and end of life subjects
  • Experience and/or aptitude for facilitating caregiver support groups
  • Ability to work independently yet also commit to being part of a team in the delivery of services
  • Detail oriented, comfortable and adaptable with digital programs
  • Physically able to travel between client locations via personal vehicle 
  • Education: B.A. in human services or relevant experience preferred
  • Available to occasionally work irregular hours and weekends (for vigil cases)
