A gift of Brokerage or Mutual Fund Accounts and Stock Certificates

Similar to gifts of bank accounts, retitling a brokerage or mutual fund account or stock certificate as” Transfer On Death” (TOD), passes the asset directly to Brattleboro Area Hospice upon death of the donor, bypassing probate.

What to do next: Talk with your broker or the transfer agent for the company whose stock you own to complete the necessary paperwork to complete this transaction.   We recommend that you consult with your financial advisor or legal counsel prior to making a planned giving assignment.
