Become a Bereavement Volunteer

Are you a good listener? Do you want to support a neighbor who is grieving the death of their loved one? Become a Bereavement Volunteer!
Bereavement Volunteers provide emotional support and companionship to individuals grieving the death loss of a loved one. Brattleboro Area Hospice will hold a seven-week training for Bereavement Volunteers when it is safe to do so again.

Applications for future training are being accepted now; we will contact you when the next sessions are scheduled to see whether you are still interested in and able to take the training. No experience is needed, space is limited. Cost for the training is $40 for materials. Following the seven week training, volunteers are expected to commit to one hour per week spent with a bereaved individual. The training will be held at the hospice office at 191 Canal St. in Brattleboro.
