Writing about loss can be healing. This year we are beginning a new Bereavement Writing Support Group for adults who have experienced any kind of death loss. Writing experience is not required, just an open mind and willingness to try this process to work through grief. The group will be facilitated by Walter Slowinski and Rick Wilhite.
The group begins Thursday February 13, 3-5pm, and will meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. It is limited to six people. The group will meet at the hospice office at 191 Canal St. in Brattleboro. Interested individuals MUST meet with Lars Hunter, Bereavement Program Coordinator, prior to joining the group, please call him at (802) 257-0775 x104 for a pre-group appointment.
Participation is free of charge and open to anyone in the community grieving the death loss of a loved one, no matter when or where the loss occurred. Bereavement Support Groups offer a safe, mutually supportive environment for sharing experiences through discussion, readings, simple activities and suggestions for moving through grief. No prior connection with hospice is necessary in order to participate.
