Ringo 2005? – 2023

My kids and I chose Ringo from the available adult cats at the Bucks County SPCA in Lahaska, PA on February 14, 2010 (that date became her ‘official’ birthday). She made herself right at home instantly; no break-in period required.

When  I worked from home, Ringo would assist me by sitting on my hands, or partially on the keyboard, or sometimes a little off to one side with just one paw on my wrist.

When my daughter Kyla moved out in 2016, Ringo went with her to her new home in Quakertown. Kyla took very good care of Ringo, who was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, followed by thyroid problems, and then kidney issues.

Ringo was a feisty soul, affectionate on her own terms. She was a polydactyl, even more special with extra toes in both front and back, making nail trims extra challenging at times. She would spend most nights curled on Kyla’s pillow, just over Kyla’s head, like a fuzzy nightcap. She was very vocal around mealtimes, and let you know in no uncertain terms that it was time to eat.

Ringo was active until the end, and died at home on her own schedule, just as I would have expected from her. We will miss her.
